Egypt & The Red Sea

Decoration

The beauty of the Red Sea is incomparable. Seeing it for the first time is mesmerizing, like staring into the eyes of Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa or into the sky of Van Gogh’s Starry Night. It is hard to find anywhere else where the barren desert plunges into a seascape of bright greens and blues—waters teeming with marine life and begging to be explored by yacht. The contrasting colors are remarkable, and the opportunities for fun are extraordinary.

When to go

October - April

High season

December - January

While exploring the coastline, one must-visit area is Sharm-El-Sheikh. It offers not only terrific snorkeling and scuba diving, but also modern nightlife mixed with shops and stands where you can find local, one-of-a-kind crafts. In Hurghada, you will see international resorts and restaurants along with the El Dahar old town, where you can sit in a traditional Egyptian coffee shop or bargain for deals in the souks, which are the local bazaars. Yet another wonderful yacht charter stop is Safaga, where sandy beaches are a magnet for sun-worshipers. Fewer tourists visit here than in Hurghada or Sharm-El-Sheikh, which makes the scuba diving all the more impressive. Sometimes, in addition to reefs, divers get a chance to see sharks and manta rays.
