Nassau

Decoration

Home to pastel Georgian façades, a harbour that has sheltered fleets since the golden age of the pirate, and reef gardens close to the dock, Nassau offers charterers the best of a capital city and beautiful Bahamian cruising grounds in one. Located on the island of New Providence, Nassau is a logical starting point for a wider Bahamian charter. On land, Fort Charlotte, the island’s largest fortification that dates back to the 1780s, offers a glimpse into the island’s past. Parliament Square and Government House showcase the Georgian colonial architecture the city is known for, while Arawak Cay, locally known as the Fish Fry, offers open-air stalls that serve conch salad and cracked conch. Ardastra Gardens is home to a colony of Bahamian flamingos, the national bird. Outside of Nassau lies Rose Island, a short cruise east, with a shallow reef ideal for charterers of all ages and abilities, while the neighbouring island of Athol is ideal for a quiet afternoon of snorkeling.

Nassau Yacht Charter

The best time of year for a Nassau charter is between December and April, as that period offers the most dry weather, steady winds and warm sunshine. The winter months tend to be busiest, due to the holiday season, with charter and cruise traffic filling up Nassau Harbour and berths booked out well in advance.
