What is the Great Barrier Reef?
The Great Barrier Reef is located in the Coral Sea off the coast of Queensland, Australia, and has no less than 2,900 reefs and 600 islands. It is so big that it is visible from space. It is the largest biogenic living structure created by living organisms in the world. It was slowly built mostly by organisms known as coral polyps. It shelters and protects many species and although it is endangered, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1981.
Yachting, the ideal way to discover this wonder
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most beautiful yachting destinations. On board a luxury yacht you can get as close as possible to the reef. You can even make excursions to make you aware of this fragile ecosystem. A vacation in an exceptional setting but also very educational and that the whole family can enjoy.
