La Maddalena

Decoration

Gracefully nestled between the northeastern shore of Sardinia and Corsica lies an archipelago of islands known as La Maddalena. La Maddalena is a commune and national park consisting of seven main islands and numerous islets, renowned throughout the Mediterranean for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters and rugged, varied terrain. The archipelago’s location in the Strait of Bonifacio makes it an obvious draw for yacht charters, as most of the islands are only accessible by sea. The main island, La Maddalena, is home to beautiful, weathered, pastel-hued buildings, welcoming locals and a picturesque port. The nearby island of Caprera, covered in dense Mediterranean vegetation, is home to several hiking trails with gorgeous vistas, while Budelli Island is famous for its unique Spiaggia Rosa, a pink sand beach formed by crushed shells of micro-organisms. The archipelago’s protected status means that its natural beauty remains intact, creating fertile grounds for diverse marine life and an underwater paradise for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts.

Ideally located for extended cruising adventures, the La Maddalena Archipelago is a perfect gateway for exploring the broader Mediterranean, including the nearby French island of Corsica.
