Ravello

Decoration

Perched a mere 365 metres above the Tyrrhenian Sea, the town of Ravello is a quiet, tranquil haven nestled along Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Known for its breathtaking vistas and rich cultural heritage, the town’s elevation and location offer panoramic views of the Mediterranean, making it a less crowded destination than other towns such as Positano or Amalfi. With roots dating back thousands of years, this mountaintop town is home to several architectural marvels, like the 13th-century Villa Rufolo with its Moorish-inspired design and terraced gardens, and Villa Cimbrone, the visionary work of Lord William Beckett, which is famous for its ‘Terrace of Infinity,’ and offers a mix of Romano-Byzantine and Norman-Saracen styles.

Also known as the “City of Music,” Ravello’s vibrant arts and cultural scene includes the annual Ravello Festival, celebrating music and the arts, and the historic Piazza Duomo, where visitors can immerse themselves in local life. Arguably one of the most charming towns along the Amalfi Coast, Ravello’s lack of beaches is more than made up by its medieval streets lined with cafes, eateries and boutiques, ancient Churches and garden villas. An ideal starting point or ending point for a more extensive yacht charter along the Amalfi Coast, Ravello’s strategic location provides easy access to nearby attractions such as Amalfi, Positano, and the island of Capri.

As Ravello is situated along the Amalfi Coast, the town benefits from a classic Mediterranean climate. As such, we recommend chartering a yacht to this picturesque town during the months of March and April or September and October. During these shoulder months, temperatures range between 20°C and 26°C, providing pleasant conditions for exploring Ravello. As the town experiences fewer visitors during this period compared to the peak summer season, it offers a more calm and relaxing experience. The busier months of July and August tend to be hotter, with temperatures reaching up to 29°C.
